Conductor
Jankó Zsolt, born in Cluj (Kolozsvár/ Klausenburg), Romania is the Permanent Conductor of the Hungarian Opera House in Cluj, of the Oradea Philarmonic Orchestra in Romania, and the Assistant Conductor of the Budapest Festival Orchestra, in Hungary. His studies included conducting courses in Venice, Italy, at the Conservatorio di Musica Benedetto Marcello Vencice, with Professor Giorgio Proietti, Masters studies in Conducting in Vienna, Austria at Universitat fur Musik und Darstellende kunst Wien with professor Leopold Hager, and also at the Gh. Dima Music Academy in Cluj, with Professor Petre Sbarcea, where he also obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in Orchestra Conducting, in 2002. Master classes that Mr. Jankó attended between 1999 and 2013 range from International Conducting courses held in various Romanian cities and also Masterclasses in Zürich, with professor David Zinman, at the Schleswig – Holstein Musik Festival, with Ivan Fischer, and the International Bartok Seminar & Festivals, with László Tihanyi, Zoltán Pesko and Péter Eötvös. Orchestras conducted by Mr. Jankó range from Philarmonics and Symphonic orchestras across Romania and Hungary, and also the Budapest Festival Orchestra, Konzerthausorchester Berlin, Tonhalle Orchester Zürich and Parnu City Orchestra in Estonia.
